Finding beauty and colour in the unexpected
ABOUT RUBY CHARLES DESIGN
My name is Jo and my passions are colour, texture and abstraction.
I studied Textile Design at Nottingham Trent University which led me to work for interior design companies in London, Jane Churchill and Mulberry.
I then went into floristry (fed my love of colour and texture!) and was lucky enough to work for 2 of the UK's top floral designers, McQueens and Jane Packer. After 6 years in London I decided to open my own business, Gadsden Flowers, with my sister in St.Albans where we live.
We ran this freelance floral design company for 16 years, specialising in funky weekly business flowers and beautiful weddings.
In 2018 we sold the flower business and both my sister and I moved onto other adventures. I decided to go back to my roots and back into the art world and retrained as a lecturer at my local art college.
In the summer of 2020, after a crazy time with covid where we all had a chance to reflect on our lives, I decided to start another business! This time, I wanted to use my love of abstract photos and paintings and share them as photo prints as well as being printed onto fashion and home accessories. I'm loving the new journey so far and I hope you love the products as much as I do.
